Student Progress

  • Uses knowledge of curriculum and the standards of student performance to plan
    appropriate long and short-term goals.
  • Uses student progress data to design classroom instruction and instructional intervention.
  • Covers appropriate content as determined by the curriculum and provides opportunities for
    students to participate in a variety of learning activities.
  • Designs and implements appropriate instructional interventions for students slow to achieve mastery or for students show have already achieved mastery.
  • Evaluates pupil’s academic performance and social growth; prepares progress reports and
    communicates with parents and pupils on the individual pupil’s progress.

Overview:

The Special Education Teacher must develop positive relationships with all students, staff, and families in order to provide our special education department with the collaboration and professionalism needed to support an excellent special education department. Additionally, the Special Education Teacher will manage the SST process school-wide.

The Special Education Teacher will report directly to the Special Education Coordinator.

Salary: This is a full-time position. We offer a competitive salary depending on experience and qualifications.

Performance and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain knowledge of current Special Education regulations and best practices.
  • Develop IEP’s in accordance with federal, state and district standards.
  • Create and maintain Special Education documentation as required by federal,state and district regulations.
  • Manage IEP’s in district’s SIRAS program.
  • Ensure IEP timeline compliance of assigned caseload.
  • Develop positive relationships with parents and families in order to engagethem in the IEP process and keep them apprised of student progress.
  • Assist with the development of 504 plans.
  • Collaborate with service providers to ensure the full continuum of services.
  • Identify groups of learners with specific targeted learning needs.
  • Work closely with administration and teachers to ensure implementation of curriculum and instruction to meet all IEP goals.

Overview

Applicants should be knowledgeable in supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students in grades TK-4. The selected Para-professional will collect data related to behavior and mental health needs, implement behavioral strategies to support skill acquisition, and monitor behavior supports under the direction of the school Resource Teacher and Principal.

Essential Duties

Assist a certificated teacher(s) in the instruction and supervision of an individual student and/or several students, with behavioral needs; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various academic and social skills. Individual positions may not perform all of the duties listed nor do these examples include all responsibilities of positions:

  • Assist teacher(s) with instruction of either an individual, or small groups of students in various learning situations including basic academic and/or specialized subject areas
  • Provide teacher with relevant feedback and information on student behavior
  • Assist staff in assessing student behavior and implementing appropriate and positive behavior interventions
  • Assist in supervision of students in the classroom, on the playground, and during meal times to maintain effective learning and safe play/recreational environment
  • Observe and control behavior of students according to approved procedures; report progress to teacher(s) regarding student performance and behavior
Knowledge and Abilities

Applicants should have working knowledge of the principles and practices of age appropriate child development and guidance applicable for an educational setting; working knowledge of autism and other developmental disabilities preferred. Applicants should have well-developed interpersonal skills to work productively and cooperatively with teachers, students, and parents in formal and informal settings. Applicants should be able to exercise extreme levels of patience when working with students, demonstrate sensitivity to the special needs of individual students, and apply the principles of positive behavior support.

Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis experience required.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Completion of two years of higher education study OR possession of an Associate’s or higher level degree

Overview:

The job of the School Community Recruiter is to provide specialized services involving the school in relation to parents and/or the community at large. This person will also be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive and innovative recruitment program to attract new families.

The Community Relations Coordinator will report directly to the Principal.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with parents on behalf of the school for the purposes of ensuring that an ongoing partnership between the home and school is formed.
  • Conduct parent meetings for the purpose of gaining information and/or discussing school news.
  • Organize various activities for the purposes of providing support to the school and parents, showcasing student work, and celebrating the diversity of the community.
  • Handle all aspects of the school’s publications such as newsletters, brochures, bulletins, and letters.
  • Represent the school in various community organizations and community events.
  • Provide strategic direction and planning for media relations.
  • Develop and post content for the school’s Facebook, Twitter, and website; working directly with staff, faculty, students, and parents.
  • Monitor the school’s social media content and comments to ensure the pages are current, comprehensive and visually inviting.
  • Develop and coordinate innovative approaches to recruitment. Establish program standards, goals, and strategies to achieve recruitment objectives.
  • Conducts oral presentations and events to encourage school enrollment.
  • Prepares a wide variety of student recruitment promotional materials such as releases, brochures, and public service announcements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in an area relevant to coordinating and directing school/community relations such as public relations, mass communication, or equivalent education and experience.

Office Clerk Is Responsible For Coordinating School Activities And Helping To Oversee

Overview:

  • Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised differentiation methods.

  • Effectively manage and instruct both small and large groups of students

  • Supervise students in classrooms, halls, lunch area, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.

  • Observe students’ performance, and record relevant data to assess progress.

  • Plan, prepare, and develop various teaching aids such as bulletin boards, charts,

    speaking students or those needing small group instruction.
